For one week every year, Chamonix in the French Alps attracts runners from around the world to the world summit of trail running: the UTMB.
The race schedule comprises events of varying distances over highly technical mountain terrain. Those who race have earned their stripes, having accrued entry points in previous qualifying events. Attempts to secure entry into OCC, TDS, CCC or the full-length Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc is a long-term project in itself.
